Get StartedScoliosis is a curving of the spine to the side that includes rotation. It affects posture and back alignment. An X-ray shows the spine as a C shape or an S shape.
Practitioners can use the cobb angle to establish if you have scoliosis and how advanced it is.
Scoliosis is not painful but troublesome. It may affect your general body posture and movement patterns. Muscles that bolster the spine may become imbalanced and lose strength and mobility.
Whatever spine curvature you are experiencing, you need an accurate diagnosis. It's crucial to feeling better. And no surgery is necessary using the Schroth Method.
Get hands on treatment such as manual traction, soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and Graston therapy.

Your physical therapist will provide information about scoliosis and the effects on the body and movement.
Scoliosis is a progressive condition – it does tend to get worse as you age. However, scoliosis is somewhat unusual in that it does not have what a “predictable trajectory".
Patients report a stiffness and tightness in the lower back. While more common in adults, stiffness and tightness of the lower back can be a common scoliosis-related symptom.
As the body tries to adjust to the abnormal spinal curvature, muscles and ligaments can become stretched and strained from overuse.
Mild scoliosis is often managed simply with exercise, medical observation, scoliosis-specific physical therapy, and chiropractic treatment from a chiropractic scoliosis specialist.
For some people with scoliosis, yoga or pilates is also recommended to decrease their pain level and increase flexibility.
