Anne Tafelski MS, PT, OMPT
Anne opened Cranbrook Physical Therapy to offer patients with orthopaedic injuries superior and individualized one on one care.
Anne graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Physical Therapy. Initially, she worked at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and eventually became the manager of Outpatient Physical Therapy at Beaumont working closely with certified Orthopedic Physical Therapists, Orthopedic Surgeons, Sports Medicine physicians and Rheumatologists. She went into private practice to further her specialization in OMPT (Orthopaedics and Manual Physical Therapy) and became certified in IFOMPT (International Federation of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists) Physical Therapist. She was mentored and received extensive clinical training from Freddy Kaltenborn, Olaf Evenjth and Lasse Thue, experts known world wide in the area of manual medicine. Anne completed this intensive three year post graduate program which included extensive clinical hours under the supervision of IFOMPT therapists. At the same time, she completed a Masters of Science in Orthopaedics and Manual Physical Therapy at Oakland University. She has since taught at Oakland University as an Adjunct Professor for Biomechanics and Differential Diagnosis classes and was on the admissions committee.
Her specialty is in treating Orthopedic injuries and pain by correcting underlying biomechanical issues through the use of manual therapy, modalities, stabilization exercises and pre Pilates practices to build solid foundational strength in patients.
Elizabeth Chomic MS, PT, CGFI
Elizabeth joined Cranbrook Physical Therapy with a passion for meeting and treating people from all walks of life.
She’s a graduate of Oakland University with a degree in Exercise Physiology. She obtained her Physical Therapy degree from Central Michigan University. Elizabeth has taken post graduate courses and seminars on myofascial release, kinesiology taping, cervical injury, TMJ and Principles of Manual Medicine and Muscle Energy Technique at Michigan State Universities School of Osteopathic Medicine. She has a special certification through Titleist Performance Institute and has been a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor since 2011. She has worked for 18 years in outpatient physical therapy, 10 of which have been in private practice.
She treats a variety of musculoskeletal disorders and her focus is on hands on manual therapy. She is interested in the biomechanics of the body, postural corrections and providing muscle balance to the body.
When she’s not in the office, Elizabeth enjoys family time with her husband, her 3 daughters, playing golf, and yoga.
Emily Kauhn, DPT, OMPT
Emily has been providing top-notch care in private outpatient clinics for over 6 years. She received her Bachelors of Science degree from Michigan State University followed by her Doctorate in Physical
Therapy at Oakland University.
While at Oakland University, she did research on energy expenditure and fatigue levels in women undergoing
radiation treatment for breast cancer.
She completed her Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy certification in 2013 and is currently a teaching assistant for orthopedic courses for Oakland University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
She enjoys using her manual techniques and skills while working with athletes and patients with spinal pathologies. When she is not in the clinic she likes to play
tennis, spend time with her family and explore the incredible hiking paths that Leelanau County has to offer.
Mark Heitchue, MPT
Mark joined Cranbrook Physical Therapy with a passion for meeting and treating people with a need to improve their quality of life.
He is a graduate of Oakland University with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Mark has taken post graduate courses and seminars on low back injuries, a variety of shoulder pathologies, knee pain, kinesiology taping, cervical injuries and Principles of Manual Therapy Technique for spine and extremities at Oakland University. He has a special certification in Parkinson’s treatment program (LSVT) and Vestibular Rehab.
He has worked for 24 years in Outpatient Physical Therapy and the Home Health Care setting. Mark has served from staff therapist, mentor, manager to Director of Therapy.
Mark treats a variety of musculoskeletal disorders and his focus is on hands on Manual Therapy. He is interested in the biomechanics of the body, postural corrections and providing muscle balance to the body.
When he is not in the office, Mark enjoys family time with his wife and his four children, camping and sports.
